Hello Everyone!

I am excited to announce that 2024 is a leap year! A leap year, as many of you may know, occurs approximately every four years, adding an extra day to the calendar year. In the Gregorian calendar system, which is widely used around the world, a standard year consists of 365 days. However, it actually takes the Earth approximately 365.2425 days to orbit the sun. To account for this discrepancy and keep our calendar in sync with the Earth's orbit, we add an extra day to the calendar every four years, creating a leap year.

That additional day, known as February 29th, serves to balance out the calendar and ensure that seasonal and astronomical events, such as the solstices and equinoxes, remain aligned with the calendar year. In Danish, leap year is called "skudår," meaning "shot year."

Enjoy the extra day today, February 29th and marvel at the intricacies of our calendar system.

Wishing you all a wonderful leap year 2024 filled with joy, discovery, and new opportunities!
