Happy Spring!

The trees blossom, the sun is shining, and you are here, experiencing life in Romania during the spring. How wonderful! No idea what to do? I invite you to read this blog post about the 5 Places You Should Visit in Romania This Spring.

Here are some traditions that we do in Romania during the spring:

Mărțișor

Mărțișor is a traditional Romanian holiday that takes place on March 1st. We celebrate this holiday by giving away small tokens of appreciation, usually in the form of a red and white string tied in a bow. They are often worn as brooches, bracelets, or necklaces and given as gifts to friends, family, and loved ones. In some parts of the country, girls will receive them from boys, while in other parts (usually the North), boys will gift a Mărțișor to the girls!

Here is a blog post where you can read more in depth about the tradition of Mărțișor.

Mother's Day

On the 8th of March, we celebrate Mother's Day, a day on which we make sure to appreciate the women in our lives. Here is a blog post about 15 Romanian Women Who Changed the World

What special days do you celebrate in your country during spring? I'd love to know, so feel free to comment below!
