Yesterday, we celebrated World Book Day and today it’s International Women’s Day. :D
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
Did you know that the first IWD gathering in 1911 was supported by over a million people? Read more here. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere and is not specific to a country, group or organization. After all, women are everywhere!
Are you curious about how to get involved with championing women? Go to the United Nations page for the official website of UN Women. It is the meeting point to mobilize, contribute, read stories, and find material to spread the message through social networks.
