Zagreb's tram network is one of the most extensive and efficient public transportation systems in Central Europe. It consists of 15 day tram lines and 4 night tram lines, covering a total of 116.3 kilometers (72.3 mi) of route. Tram services operate daily from 4:30 a.m. to midnight, with trams running every 5-10 minutes during peak hours and every 10-15 minutes during off-peak hours. Night tram lines operate less frequently, with trams running every 30-40 minutes.

The tram network is a vital part of Zagreb's public transportation system, and it is a popular choice for both locals and tourists. It is a convenient and affordable way to get around the city, and it is a great way to see the sights.

Here are some of the most popular tram lines in Zagreb:

  • Line 1: This line runs from Črnomerac to Sopot, and it passes through the city center. It is a great way to see some of Zagreb's most famous landmarks, such as the Ban Jelačić Square, the Zagreb Cathedral, and the Croatian National Theatre.
  • Line 2: This line runs from Črnomerac to Savišće, and it passes through the eastern part of the city. It is a good option for getting to the Zagreb Arena, a major sporting and entertainment venue.
  • Line 6: This line runs from Črnomerec to Sopot, and it passes through the western part of the city. It is a good option for getting to the Maksimir Stadium, Zagreb's main football stadium.
  • Line 11: This line runs from Črnomerec to Dubrava, and it passes through the northern part of the city. It is a good option for getting to the Zagreb Zoo.
  • Line 15: This line is a special exception; it is more like a light rail line than an actual tram line. It runs for approximately 3 kilometers from Mihaljevac to Dolje and is the fastest and shortest line in the entire tram network. The line runs on a completely segregated right of way, and a special type of catenary was developed for the line, which allows trams to reach speeds of 60 km/h (37 mph).

If you are planning to stay in Zagreb, be sure to take advantage of the city's tram network. It is a great way to get around and see the sights, as well it's very secure and puntual.
