Hello dear reader,

June 18, marks the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, a milestone established by the U.N. General Assembly to combat the destructive force of hate speech.

Hate speech, defined by the UN as any kind of communication that attacks or discriminates against individuals or groups based on religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, color, descent, gender, or other identity factors, is a serious threat to global peace and unity.

In our increasingly interconnected world, it is vital to ensure that speech is not used as a weapon to incite violence and division. The International Day for Countering Hate Speech serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to promote tolerance, inclusion, and respect for all.

Let us stand together in solidarity against hate-mongering and work towards a world where everyone can live free from fear and discrimination.
