Hello!
Ready for some more weather words into your Norwegian vocabulary?
Here are two words that are quite summer specific:
Hetebølge - Heat wave
We use this expression when it is hotter than usual, for more days in a row. In the south of Norway, we use the word hetebølge if is around 30 degrees Celsius or more.
Tropenatt - Tropical night
If the temperature does not go below 20 degree Celsius during night time, we use the word “tropenatt”.
Have you experienced tropenatt or hetebølge so far on your exchange?
Best,
Hannah, OLS Community Manager - Norwegian
