In this increasingly globalised word, gaining international experience can serve as a valuable asset for young people and professionals to enhance their career prospects. Studying and working abroad gives us the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective, broadens our cultural understanding, and helps us build an invaluable network of contacts from around the world.
I can personally confirm this, as till this day I am still in close touch with several people who I have had chance to meet, study and work with while abroad.
We are all different, and I believe that apart from developing a diverse skill set, studying and working abroad enhances your empathy towards other people, and ultimately makes you a better person. It is a process which requires empathy and open-mindedness and flexibility, and also makes you more understanding of others who face similar transitions.
