Labas future Lithuanian students!

The countdown is on—September is just around the corner, and that means it’s almost time for your exciting adventure in Lithuania to begin. Whether you're headed to Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai or Klaipėda, this quick list of websites and social media pages will help you settle in and navigate during the first days here.

Getting Around (Važiavimas mieste)

Navigating a new city can be daunting, but Lithuanian cities make it easy with their public transportation systems. Check out these two apps for public transport:

  • m.Ticket App: Skip the hassle of buying tickets every time you board a bus or trolleybus. Use the m.Ticket system. It allows you to buy monthly tickets, access bus schedules, etc.

  • Trafi App: This app is the alternative to the first one option; it works in Vilnius only. To be honest, I like it more than m.Ticket, because it has more features. It’ll help you plan your trips, find the quickest routes, and access public transport schedules—no internet required.

Connecting with the Community, Exploring the Culture (Bendruomenė, Kultūra)

The following online community pages will help you better understand what’s going on day to day, also, find help if needed.

  • Study in LT: Lithuanian national information and support center for international students.

  • Erasmus Vilnius 2024: Connect with fellow students, ask questions, learn about upcoming events, and share experiences.

  • Foreigners in Lithuania: Ask living-in-Lithuania-related practical questions. People are very helpful there. All the answers about where to eat, how to rent a car, where to buy a used table can be found there. Mostly for those who live in Vilnius.

  • Erasmus in Kaunas: Accommodation and other student-oriented questions for those who stay in Kaunas.

  • Go Vilnius: This is an official page of the tourism development agency of Vilnius. You can find pretty awesome things there, like branded city campaigns, upcoming events, city trends, etc.

  • Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Lithuania: This amazing organization is dedicated to helping students like you get the most out of their time abroad. Join ESN Lithuania to participate in cultural events, make new friends, and dive deep into Lithuanian culture.
