The word anger comes from the norse word angr, meaning trouble or affliction.
In Norwegian, we still use the word quite a lot, but it has a different meaning than the contemporary English word, where it describes annoyance and displeasure.
The contemporary Norwegian word anger translates to regret.
It can either be used as a noun:
Jeg har mye anger/I have a lot for regret
or a verb:
Jeg angrer ikke på noe/I regret nothing
