Dear Czech Community,
Research has shown that our perspective changes with every new language we learn. Every new word we learn, then, is a building block to shaping, changing and broadening our worldview. Furthermore, research has shown that bi- and multilingualism has many cognitive benefits. So, we can say that learning languages is both a valuable and healthy endeavour. But beyond the research, learning languages can improve our individual lives and the opportunities that lie before us. So, in this discussion, I'd love to hear from you about how learning languages has benefitted YOUR life.
Maybe learning languages, including Czech, has given you new opportunities. Or, perhaps, it has allowed you to speak to a loved one in their native language. Or possibly, learning languages is simply your passion and doing so gives you deep fulfilment. Whatever your experience, please let us know in the comments below, we would love to hear from you!
And, who knows, maybe you'll inspire fellow community members to follow your lead and start learning a new language themselves! If you want to talk and go more into depth about your language learning journey, please follow the link above.
I look forward to reading your replies and engaging with you in this discussion topic.
Warmly,
Martin, OLS Community Manager – Czech
