When we travel or move to a new country, we often expect to meet new people, but sometimes the connections we form are the most unexpected—and often the most rewarding. In this discussion, let’s explore those surprising friendships that blossom in foreign places.
Have you ever met someone you didn’t expect to connect with, whether it was because of a language barrier, cultural differences, or simply being in the right place at the right time? How did your friendship develop, and what has made it special or meaningful to you?

I have personally made several long-lasting friendship when I was abroad, whether they were through academic ground or just through common interest such as fitness or surfing.
