Dear English community,
Upcoming Sunday on the 17th of November, International Students Day takes place. This day is dedicated to celebrating international students, like many of you are, and what you each bring to the community!
Each year, since its inauguration in London by the International Students Council in 1941, International Students Day is held on the 17th of November. There are many ways to celebrate International Students Day. If your university organises something on International Students Day, you could always participate in that event. Another way to celebrate could be to organise a meet-up with international students in your area wherein each of you makes a dish from your home country for a dinner celebration.
A suggestion that I would like to offer is to celebrate International Students Day by joining our upcoming English Community Speaking Session on the 26th of November at 3pm (CET). This is an opportunity to, together with other international students, practise your English language skills and converse about topics like living abroad, language learning, and much more! If this sounds like something you want to participate in, you can sign up here.
How will you celebrate this day? Let us know here!
Warmly,
Marieke, OLS Community Manager - English
