Dear Croatian community,
We are happy to announce a groundbreaking proud moment for Croatian cinema: "The Man Who Couldn't Remain Silent" has officially been nominated for an Oscar Academy Award (for Best Live Action Short Film)! This marks the very first time a Croatian film has earned this prestigious recognition, making history and shining a global spotlight on our nation’s growing film industry.
Directed by the visionary filmmaker Nebojša Slijepčević, the film tells the powerful story of a man, with the talented Goran Bogdan in the main role, who risks everything to expose hidden truths in the face of injustice. Its universal themes of courage, resilience, and the pursuit of justice have resonated with audiences worldwide, earning critical acclaim and now a place among the year’s best cinematic achievements. The movie was awarded previously with Short Film Palme d'Or and European Film Award for Best Short Film before the prestigious Oscar nomination.
This monumental achievement is not only a triumph for the talented cast and crew who brought this story to life but also a testament to the artistic cinametic possibilities of Croatia.
Join us as we celebrate this historic moment and cheer on The Man Who Couldn't Remain Silent at the 96th Academy Awards!
