Swedes value politeness, equality, and personal space. A firm but not overly strong handshake is the standard greeting, and addressing people by their first name is common, regardless of status. Punctuality is highly respected in both social and professional settings—being late is considered rude.
Swedes appreciate direct yet diplomatic communication and avoid unnecessary small talk. Personal space is important, so standing too close or interrupting conversations is discouraged. In social settings, removing shoes when entering someone's home is customary.
Lastly, the concept of "lagom" (moderation and balance) influences Swedish behaviour, promoting a reserved and humble approach to interactions.
Have you noticed anything other than the above behaviours typical for Sweden? Please share:)
