Dear English community,

As students of the English language, you may all have different techniques for learning English that work for you. Some of you may learn English in a class setting, others may take CEFR level (A1/A2/B1/B2) courses on OLS, others may learn English by listening to English songs, and others may study a daily word from an English dictionary.

Whatever your technique, I'd love to hear from you and learn what you do to study the language so we can learn from each other :-)

Warmly,

Marieke, OLS Community Manager - English

I can learn grammar and vocabulary with exercise, but if I want to speak English fluently, I usually do the "shadowing" method by watching English-speaking films (movies? which one is suitable?) and other TV shows, and then repeat the tone and the way the characters say it in different situations.

I love Disney since I was a kid, so watching Disney Channel helps with my Speaking - Listening skills a lot!

Also, I spend time practicing speaking in real life with my English tutor. She helps me become more confident and corrects me if I pronounce a word incorrectly.

wow, I am also a big fan of disney. you are so right. Even though i was just a kid at that time, watching cartoons in english really helped me remember a lot of sentences that can be used in daily communication.
Can you recommend me another movie? I think we have similar tastes.
