Inspired by our latest blog post on the beauty of poetic Icelandic expressions, this discussion is your chance to practice using those beautiful words in Icelandic!
Here’s how you can participate:
1. Choose one or two poetic Icelandic words you like (for example: sólarhringur, logn, hjartans mál, or draumaland).
2. Write a short sentence or two using the word(s) in Icelandic.
3. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect—this is a safe space to practice and support one another!
Here are some helpful sentence starters:
• Uppáhalds íslenska orðið mitt er… (My favorite Icelandic word is…)
• Ég nota orðið… þegar… (I use the word… when…)
• Mér finnst orðið… mjög fallegt. (I find the word… very beautiful.)
