Labas everyone!

Can you believe May 1st is already tomorrow? That means a lovely public holiday and a free day for many of us! With the weather looking promising (fingers crossed!), it's the perfect chance to shake off the routine, get outside, and enjoy the beautiful Lithuanian spring.

Thinking about how to spend the day without spending a cent? If you're around Vilnius or Kaunas, here are a couple of ideas for some free fun:

  • Around Vilnius:

    • Vingis Park: Perfect for a long walk, a bike ride, a picnic, or just relaxing by the Neris river.
    • Verkiai Regional Park: Explore the stunning nature trails, enjoy the views from Verkiai Palace surroundings, or visit the Vilnius Calvary Way of the Cross.
    • Bernardine Garden (Bernardinų sodas): A beautiful, centrally located spot to stroll, enjoy the fountains, and soak up the city's spring atmosphere.
  • Around Kaunas:

    • Santaka Park: Visit the spot where the Nemunas and Neris rivers meet, explore the park grounds, and maybe wander towards Kaunas Castle nearby.
    • Ąžuolynas (Oak Grove): Europe's largest urban oak grove offers shady paths perfect for a relaxing walk or jog.
    • Panemunė Pinewood (Panemunės šilas): Enjoy a scenic walk or bike ride along the Nemunas river on the well-maintained paths.

These are just a few quick thoughts, of course!

So, the big question is: What are your plans for the free day?

Do you have any favourite free spots or hidden gems around Vilnius, Kaunas, or elsewhere in Lithuania you'd recommend for a sunny day off?

Share your plans and tips below – let's inspire each other to make the most of this May 1st!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing day!

Truly yours,
