On this day in 1945, the government of the People's Republic of Macedonia officially adopted the Macedonian alphabet as the official script of the Macedonian language.
This important cultural milestone is now officially recognized. On May 5th, Macedonian Language Day was declared during the 130th session of the government held on April 16, 2019.
