Hi, community! Good news!

On 27 May at 3 PM CET, we will organize a practical workshop to introduce you to the Estonian language with me!

What is a speaking session?

During the workshop, we will have a conversation to get to know each other, talk about your mobility programs, travel, and learning Estonian. The aim is to get to know Estonian, practice your first words in Estonian, and feel comfortable talking with a native speaker.

P.S. Don't worry if you do not speak  Estonian fluently, we will focus on basic words and phrases, as well as getting to know Estonian and each other, so speakers of all levels are welcome!

How to participate?

There are a total of 10 places available. If you would like to participate, please let us know in the comments section below and we will reserve a place for you. It is not compulsory to book a place, but it will help us organize the session better. Also, it would be very helpful to know what your level of Estonian is, so we can prepare creative activities that suit you!

Priority for participation will go to those who have booked, but you can still log in on the day! We will still let you participate if there are absentees or only a few extra people.

Where?
You can access the workshop by clicking THIS LINK which will take you to a virtual Teams room.

The duration of the meeting will be about an hour - an hour and a half maximum.

See you soon,

Ingrid, OLS Community Manager – Estonian

Thanks for the slides ^^
One further question, do you have any recommendations for Estonian children's books suited for language learners? I always think things like that are helpful when learning a new language.

Of course, here are a few books that might be interesting:

Naksitrallid by Eno Raud

Kunksmoor by Aino Pervik

Arabella, mereröövli tütar by Aino Pervik

Sirli, Siim ja saladused by Andrus Kivirähk (you can also find this as an audiobook here)

Seltsimees laps by Leelo Tungal

All of the authors have a wide range of books so if you like their style, you can look for other books they have published.
