"Climate Change Dilemma: What Would You Do?"

Dear English community,

This is a time when climate change is THE big topic. Many of our generation fear what our future with a changed climate will look like for us and our descendants. With a topic such as climate change, it can be tempting to get swept up in the vastness of the topic and be frozen in inaction. Luckily, there is always something we can do!

In our English B1 course module ‘Zero waste: can we do it’, you learn about a town with multiple zero waste initiatives. Inspired by this module, I would like to propose a dilemma for you to think about and discuss today:


Dilemma:
“If you had to choose, would you choose to never travel abroad again, or have cold showers or the rest of your life?”

I would rather choose taking cold showers for the rest of my life, because I'm living in a tropical country and it's always hot here, so it isn't a big deal for me! :D

It's so easy, even now, because I've been taking cold showers for a long time, so it's a win-win situation for me, because I would never choose any other option than traveling abroad :D

It'so easy. I choose to have cold showers because cold exposure can activate the body's stress response system, potentially making it more resilient to stress over time. One more thing, cold showers will actually help your hair become stronger.

It seems like cold showers for the rest of your life isn't too much of price to pay for many of you! Would anyone else choose a different response to our climate dilemma?
