Have you ever shared a flat with someone? How did you choose who to live with? Was it their personality, their hobbies, or something else that caught your attention? Living with other people can be fun, but also challenging — that’s why it helps to find someone with similar interests or habits.
In this A1 learning module, “Sarah is a volunteer in an organisation,” you’ll learn how to describe people in Slovak — their appearance, their personality, and what they like or don’t like. You’ll also see how to ask others about their hobbies and preferences. These are useful phrases when you’re looking for a new flatmate, meeting someone new, or just trying to make conversation in Slovak.
What do you usually look for in a flatmate or new friend?
Can you describe yourself using a few Slovak words or phrases you’ve learned?
Feel free to share your thoughts in English or practise in Slovak — we’re here to learn together!
