Dear community members,

I’m delighted to invite you to take part in an exciting new food-themed language exercise on the forums. If you love food and want to learn how to describe a dish so vividly that others can almost taste it, this is truly the perfect challenge for you!

Our fellow community member Chiara has already shared a beautifully detailed description of her grandmother’s lasagna. Now I’d love to hear about the dishes that bring back special memories for you!

How does it work?
In this exercise, you’re invited to describe a dish that is meaningful to you. Perhaps it’s your favourite meal to cook, or maybe, like Chiara, it’s the dish your grandmother used to cook for you. The purpose of the exercise is to practise describing a dish in so much detail that someone who reads your description can almost taste it. In the exercise, I’ll give you some tips on elements you can include to make your description as colourful and flavourful as possible.

Get started with the exercise here:

I’m very much looking forward to hearing about the dishes that are special to you!

Warm regards,
