Hi there!

Wondering how to get around in France? Well, this forum thread is for you!

First of all, France’s train system, SNCF, is well developed and pretty affordable. If you’re younger than 27 years old, you can purchase the Carte Avantage Jeune SNCF that will give you a 30% discount on your train rides! For budget travel, you may want to consider bus companies. Buses are a bit slower than trains but there are usually more cost-effective.

In France, each city has its own transportation network operator; 6 cities have a metro system: Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Paris, Rennes and Toulouse; and 28 metropolitan areas have a tram system. You can also walk or ride your bike to get around cities in France.

You may have also heard about BlaBlaCar which is a carpooling company that connects drivers and passengers willing to travel together from one city to another. It is very popular in France and sometimes even cheaper or faster than taking the train.

How do YOU get around in France? Let us know in the comment section down below!
