Good afternoon,

I am on my third week of my intership and my university told me that I had to do online language course if I didn't get a C2 level when doing the French placement test. I got a C1 but I don't really understand how this platform works and where is the especific course I should do and where is the learning plan.

Thank you very much for your help,

Marina

Good morning Marina

Thanks for reaching out :)

All the classes available on OLS are displayed on your dashboard. You can access your dashboard by clicking on this link : https://academy.europa.eu/courses/french-learning-community-and-resources/view/?fromPath=dashboard.

There is no particular learning plan on OLS. We recommend students to take the language test (available in the spotlight section of the dashboard) and then to take A1, A2, B1 or B2-level classes, according to their results to the test.

If you scroll down on your dashboard page, you’ll reach the « search page », just under the spotlight section. There, you’ll be able to find all the classes available on OLS and to sort them thanks to the « curriculum » menu. As of today, OLS unfortunately does not have C1 or C2 classes. However, there are plenty of great learning materials, that you can access through the « curriculum » menu including A1, A2, B1 and B2-level classes, vocational training material (VET) that are industry-specific lessons, grammar videos as well as quizzes and flashcards.

By clicking on a specific learning material, for exemple the Je suis charpentier/charpentière MOOC, the level of difficulty of the lesson will be displayed, as shown on the photo down below. I would suggest you explore the « curriculum » menu of your dashboard and look for classes that match your level of French and, if possible, your internship industry and interests.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or if something is not clear. In addition, I’ll sure keep you posted about any potential updates regarding C1 and C2 classes.

I wish you a great day and a great week,

Lilas, OLS Community Manager – French
