Tutorial: How to Upload Photos to Your Posts or Replies

Hi everyone! 

Do you know that you can add photos to your posts and replies? Yes, it’s TRUE!

Before we get started with this tutorial, read the IMPORTANT rules to remember before posting your photos:

  1. They must comply with our House Rules & Netiquette;
  2. They must be your photos.
  3.  If it's not your photo, it must be from the public domain or creative commons (meaning, there is no copyright infringement or they're free to use.)
  4. Size restrictions: the ideal file size for images on the web is no more than 1MB.

Let’s start!! :) 

PART 1: HOW TO ADD A PHOTO TO YOUR POST!

1.       Go to a forum and open a new discussion.

2.       Open the photo you wish to use from your laptop or desktop computer.

3.       Right-click & copy your photo.

4.       Go back to your new discussion’s chat box and right-click to paste your photo inside the chat box.

5.       Click “Post to Forum.” and THAT’S IT!

NOTE: If you want to change the size or position of the photo, click “Edit” and follow the steps in Part 2.


PART 2: HOW TO ADD A PHOTO TO YOUR REPLY!

 1. At the bottom of any forum post, click “Reply” to open the chat box and then click on “Advanced” to be taken to the larger chat box with more editing options. (Where the blue arrow points)

 2. Click the “Insert or Edit Image” icon (where the blue arrow points)

 3. A new, small window will pop up in the foreground. Click, “Browse repositories.”

 4. A new window will pop up. Click “Browse” to search your device for the photo you wish to upload. Then click, “Upload this file.”

 6. Once the photo is uploaded, its dimensions are automatically calculated. You must either write a brief description of your photo for someone who cannot see it OR check the small box next to “This image is decorative only.

7. Then click “Save Image.”

8. Once you return to your draft, you can view your text with your image and make adjustments if necessary.

NOTE: To adjust the photo’s size or position, double-click on your image to go back and adjust the size or alignment.

9. Once satisfied with your text and photo, click the “Post to Forum” button.

10. You will be taken back to the forum landing page where you will see your reply or new discussion :)


PART 3: ADD A PHOTO TO YOUR NEW DISCUSSION TOPIC

1. Go to the forum where you want to start a new discussion.

2. Click the “Add a new discussion” button.

3. Once your new window opens, you can follow the steps above from Part 1 or Part 2.
