Introduction
0%
In the introduction we
outline the basic concepts of the OEF studies and the Life Cycle analysis
methodology. You will learn why the studies are relevant, how they are
structured and what processes are involved.
In this module you will learn to identify and
collect data. You will learn the difference between primary and secondary data
and how they have to be selected.
After completing this
module, you will be aware of the Life cycle assessment (LCA) software that can
be used for the environmental footprint assessment, be able to describe the four
steps of the Impact Assessment and be able to understand the characterization,
normalization and weighting of the results as well as when to use them. You
will be also aware of the possibility of adding additional environmental information.
After completing this module,
you will be able to explain how to draw
conclusion based on the OEF results, how to interpret characterized, normalized
and weighted results, identify the most
relevant impact categories, life cycle stages, process and elementary flows and
perform an estimation of the uncertainty.
After completing this
module, you will be able to explain the
process of reporting on an OEF study as well as the verification and validation
of OEF reports.
