Detalhes do curso

“Primates are super smart and organized just enough to devote their time to being miserable to each other and stressing each other out. But if you get chronically, psychosocially stressed, you are going to compromise your health. So essentially, we have evolved to be smart enough to make ourselves sick.” Robert Sapolsky

We live in a time of increased stress in the world. Not only we, as educators, are struggling with stress but also our pupils experience varying stressful situations. Negative situations at home, in schools, drastic shifts in society but also positive changes can lead to stress in children. The ability to manage stress is an important skill because it has an impact on our body and health, our relationships, performance, and productivity and can lead to a longer, happier life.

The course “Healthy school life - reducing stress in schools” is the third and final course of the LifeComp course series where we explore different areas of Life Competences (you can find the first course on Self – Regulated Learning here and the second course on Student’s Resilience here). The personal area of the LifeComp has a crucial impact on stress management. Self-regulation, flexibility, and wellbeing are three competencies we will examine in this course so that we can become role models for our pupils and teach them how to manage their stress and improve their academic performance, behaviour, and life.
