How to transform social and emotional learning through eTwinning
Podrobnosti o kurze
As teachers, we increasingly recognise that learning is not only cognitive, but also social and emotional. Yet a common professional challenge remains: how can Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) be taught in meaningful, practical ways that fit real classrooms, curriculum demands, and collaborative project work? This course was designed to respond directly to that challenge.
Drawing on both research in educational psychology and everyday teaching practice, this course guides participants on a purposeful learning journey, from understanding SEL foundations, to designing eTwinning projects with a clear social-emotional focus, and finally to enriching these projects using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a supportive pedagogical tool.
The course is structured into three modules. The first module introduces Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), exploring what it is, why it matters, and how it is already embedded in everyday teaching. Through practical examples and a confidence-building “quick win” activity, participants map existing lessons to SEL competencies and consider how these practices can extend into eTwinning projects.
The second module focuses on designing and implementing eTwinning projects that intentionally foster SEL competencies such as empathy, collaboration, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making. Participants engage in hands-on design tasks and peer exchange to develop context-specific SEL-focused project activities.
The final module introduces AI as a supportive thinking partner for planning and enriching eTwinning projects. Participants explore how AI can enhance creativity, reflection, and differentiation, and consolidate their learning through a reflective Learning Journal culminating in a refined SEL-oriented project plan.
