The objective of the Information Management Course Advanced (IMC ADV) is to provide the necessary competences to perform in the role of Information Management Expert of the EUCPT during an international UCPM deployment.

Target audience

EEU Member States and UCPM Participating States civil protection/disaster management experts experienced at national and international level and already trained in ODC Advanced, wishing to deploy internationally in a coordination and assessment position as Information Manager expert as part of an EUCPT

Learning objectives

  • Recognise how an efficient information management system combines field presence with remote support
  • Demonstrate how to establish an effective information management system (process and flow) for an EU Civil Protection Team (EUCPT) and EU Modules mobilised through the UCPM, including use of standard tools like MS SharePoint and related software
  • Practice working with databases collated from various sources, data cleaning, processing, and preparation for interpretation
  • Apply principles for visualisation, GIS, and other forms of descriptive analysis• Use simple analysis frameworks as tools for interpretation
  • Practice presentation of processed information for further interpretation
  • Apply best practices to communicate information to support decicions
