The Operational Deployment Course Advanced (ODC ADV) provides participants with an enhanced level of knowledge and skills required to perform competently as a EUCPT member, including the TAST personnel, during international deployments under the UCPM. The ODC ADV is the second operational deployment course mandatory to be eligible for UCPM international deployment, along with participation in a MODEX tabletop and field exercise.

- EU Member States and UCPM Participating States’ civil protection/disaster management experts already trained and experienced at national level wishing to deploy internationally as part of an EUCPT
- EU Member States and UCPM Participating States’ Technical Experts (optional)
- DG ECHO staff (ERCC Liaison Officers)

Learning objectives
- Analyse and apply different assignments and roles that need to be filled on a UCPM mission
- Apply and evaluate the importance of staff structure and division of tasks
- Understand what data and information is needed and how to use it in a mission context
- Understand and implement key aspects of coordination management on a UCPM mission
- Understand how to manage mission-critical knowledge from a coordination platform perspective
- Analyse and create persuasive and good quality briefing documents and presentations
- Organise and present complex information to an audience and demonstrate expertise and mastery of the subject matter
- Implement negotiation skills, including protocol for meetings in a high-level coordination meeting
- Unterstand the role of media
