Raising numbers of radicalized prisoners are a growing concern in Europe. You might recognize this trend in your own environment. Successful rehabilitation of these prisoners is crucial in lowering those numbers. Rehabilitation often is a multi-disciplinary effort and involves different stakeholders. Therefore, cooperation and clear communication are of the utmost importance. In this course we aim to give you tools and insights to deal with radicalised prisoners in your daily practice. You might be working in a prison wing, be a social worker, psychologist, a chaplaincy or other. We are aware that each participant has a different background and expertise level. Which is why you are able to navigate freely through this course.

What are the differences between radicalised individuals on the one hand and the general prison population on the other hand? What do these differences mean for rehabilitation efforts? What is the role of multi-agency work within prison? What approaches can be taken to monitoring/working on rehabilitation? What are the up- and downsides of the various approaches and how do you know which one fits best? Which methods/tools/interventions are available within the various approaches? How do you know which one to choose? What are the responsibilities of the different actors in the multi-agency cooperation and how do you work together most effectively? The practitioner is aware of the defining features of radicalised prisoners
