WHAT IS ERASMUS GENERATION MEETING?
In the words of the organizers, “it's the biggest international conference where the Erasmus Generation comes together to learn and discuss different topics related to the new Erasmus+ programme and the future of mobility.”
WHAT’S
THIS YEAR’S THEME?
The main theme of the EGM 2023 will be "international skills for more engaged societies," with the two main pillars being:
- Skills gained through international opportunities, and
- Civic engagement of young people
Both are quite timely topics because of the current European Year of Skills* campaign and the 2024 European Parliamentary elections.
In addition to the two pillars, the three priorities for the meeting are:
- Recognition of youth work
- Implementation of mobility programmes and their different dimensions,
- Green and digital transition
Read more about these three priorities here.

AHHHH, BUT WHY SHOULD I GO, IYA?
Great question! Just look at that picture of the flag parade! Don't you want to be one of the over 900 mobility participants expected to be at this important meeting?
In addition to participating in conversations that have a direct impact on how to improve mobility opportunities & skill building, there are social events and activities to meet and mingle with those who work to improve mobility engagement & internationalization of skills for Europeans.

WHY IS SKILL BUILDING A MAJOR TOPIC THESE DAYS?
You’ve noticed that “skill-building” was mentioned a few times in the EGM announcement, right? Well, that’s because, for the EU, this is one of the most important agenda items right now.
The EU wants to
address skills shortages in the EU by helping people get the right skills for
quality jobs and helping companies, in particular small and medium enterprises, to find skilled workers.
So committed to building skills in the EU, FREE online training is offered to YOU and anyone else in the EU wishing to improve their skills. Here’s the link to see what’s on offer in the realm of digital skill building.
What other skills do you think are necessary for the EU? Tell us in this discussion in our Practice Your English forum.
Happy exploring, friends!
