In Bulgaria, like most Eastern European countries, June 1st is celebrated as International Children's Day (Международен ден на детето).
It is a day dedicated to honoring and celebrating children and promoting their rights and well-being. It is a joyful occasion with various activities, events, and programs organized for children across the country.
The initiative to celebrate Children's Day as an international holiday comes from the World Conference on Children's Health, held in 1925 in Geneva (Switzerland). It was taken up in some countries around the world, including - at first in the USA, and from 1927 in Bulgaria it is celebrated under the patronage of Princess Evdokia; the wife of Boris III -Tsar of Kingdom Bulgaria. (information from Wikipedia)
Around the world, Children's Day began to be celebrated after on December 14, 1954, the United Nations and UNESCO declared November 20 as World Children's Day, although the date itself is not universally accepted, in different countries around the world, it is determined, according to local conditions and traditions. The content and meaning of the holiday are similar everywhere - it is a day dedicated to efforts to achieve happiness for all children.
So, having in mind this information, I wish all of you, dear Language Learners, to always keep a little bit childish in yourself and not take difficulties too seriously. :)
