Hoy, 30 de septiembre, celebramos el Día Internacional de la Traducción, una fecha que rinde homenaje al trabajo de los/las profesionales lingüísticos/as. La labor de los/las traductores/as e intérpretes es fundamental, ya que facilita el diálogo intercultural y nos brinda acceso a información que de otra manera no podríamos comprender.
Desde esta comunidad, queremos sumarnos a esta celebración proponiéndoos un pequeño ejercicio. En este tema de discusión, encontraréis un texto en inglés, el cual os invitamos a traducir al español/castellano en los comentarios. Habla de uno de los lugares con más historia de España: la Cueva de Altamira.
Antes de apagar mi ordenador y dejaros tranquilos/as, me gustaría compartir con vosotros/as una curiosidad: ¿Sabíais que la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos, disponible en alrededor de 550 idiomas, es el documento más traducido del mundo?

Today, September 30, we celebrate International Translation Day, a date that pays tribute to the role of linguistic professionals. The job of translators and interpreters is fundamental, as it facilitates intercultural dialogue and allows us to access information that we would otherwise not be able to understand.
From this community, we would like to join this homage by proposing a small exercise. In this discussion topic you will find a text in English that you are invited to translate into Spanish in the comments. It talks about one of the most historically significant places in Spain: the Altamira Cave.
Before I turn off the computer and leave you in peace, I would like to share with you an interesting fact: Did you know that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, available in about 550 languages, is the most translated document in the world?
