Dia Dhaoibh guys!

Let's Chat! Beginner-Friendly Irish Language Meetup

Curious about Irish but feeling a bit nervous about joining a language session? Don't worry - this is exactly the space for you! We're hosting a super relaxed meetup where we'll mainly chat in English about how we are finding learning Irish, share our favourite Irish words (even if you only know a few!), and play some fun language games.

What to expect:

  • A friendly, no-pressure environment
  • Lots of English conversation about learning Irish
  • Simple language games to learn together
  • A chance to hear how Irish words are pronounced
  • Meet other beginners just like you!

When: Tuesday, February 11th at 3:00 PM CET (2pm Irish Time)

Where: Microsoft Teams (Join from anywhere comfortable!) [Teams Link]

You don't need any prior Irish knowledge - we're all learning together! Whether you know zero words or a handful of phrases, you're absolutely welcome. Think of it more as a casual chat about Irish with some fun language elements mixed in.

Want to join us? Just click the Teams link at the scheduled time. Bring a cupán tae (cup of tea) if you'd like!

Hi! I was just wondering if this is limited to Erasmus + and EU solidarity corps participants or can the general public join? And is it weekly at this time? Thanks!

Hey Sinead!

Thank you so much for sending a message! It is open to anyone who is looking to learn "cúpla focail". It's a very very relaxed session where we are just have the chats and I'll throw a few Irish words into my sentences. There will be no putting others on the spot or asking anyone to speak who doesn't feel comfortable doing so. It's all about having fun! :)

This is our very first speaking session so it isn't weekly at the moment. But you never know what the future holds, if tomorrow goes well! :)

Hope you can join Sinéad :)
