Family Members
Family relationships are central to Irish culture, and the language has specific words for each family member. We say "clann" for family, "deirfiúr" for sister, "deartháir" for brother, "máthair" for mother, and "athair" for father. Learning these words helps us share stories about the important people in our lives.
Exercise: Tell us about your family:
- Name three family members using Irish words
- Say one thing about each person using "Tá sé/sí..."
- Share one activity you do together
- Ask a question about someone else's family using "An bhfuil...?"
