Getting ready for your Erasmus stay can be exciting—but also a bit stressful when it comes to packing. Besides clothes, you’ll need to think about useful items, important documents, and things that will make you feel at home abroad.
In this situation, it’s very helpful to talk to future flatmates or local friends. You can ask them what’s really necessary to bring, and what you can easily buy once you arrive.
Here are a few useful Slovak phrases for this situation:
-
Čo si mám priniesť? – What should I bring?
-
Potrebujem si vziať uterák? – Do I need to take a towel?
-
Kde si môžem kúpiť SIM kartu? – Where can I buy a SIM card?
-
Nezabudni na cestovné doklady. – Don’t forget your travel documents.
-
Je tam práčka? – Is there a washing machine?
If you want to practise how to ask for or give information about what to pack, you can find this in the course module “What do I need to take on mobility.”
What are your must-have items for an Erasmus mobility?
Have you ever packed something that turned out to be useless—or forgotten something important?
