Hi Raquel!

Welcome to the community :-) It's so lovely to meet you. That is so amazing that you are going to volunteer at the Anne Frank House. It's such an important job - Amsterdam is lucky to have you! Did you know we have a forum especially for practicing you Dutch? If you want you can give a Dutch introduction a try via the first post of the forum via this link: https://academy.europa.eu/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=3904

I'll create more Dutch practice posts on the forum in the coming days and weeks. If you have any special requests or areas of interests, let me know!

Warm wishes from Amsterdam,

Marieke (OLS Community Manager)

Kaszyńska Dominika -
Hallo iedereen!
I'm Dominika and I'm studying psychology. I came to the Netherlands (Utrecht) for an internship last summer and I'd like to come back again maybe for a PhD programme. My Dutch is already at the B1 level, I'm working on my fluency. I love meeting new people and being in an international environment. I have a wide range of interests. If you want to get to know more about me you can find me here:

Hi Dominika!

Welcome to the forum! That is fantastic that you have already lived in Utrecht and that you want to come for your PhD. Did you like Utrecht? Or would you like to try out a different city for your PhD?

Wow, B1 level in Dutch is such an achievement - it is not an easy language to learn. Do you have any tips for community members who are still beginners?

Also, do you have any special requests for language practice at your advanced level? Any specific topics you'd like to learn about? If so, let me know! I can then create some material in either a blog or the brand new "Practice your Dutch" Forum.

Warm wishes from Amsterdam,

Marieke (OLS Community Manager)

Hi Berna!

Thank your for introducing yourself! I'm so happy you're joining our community of Dutch learners. How fantastic that you've decided to live in the Netherlands after graduation. Tell us more! Where are you going to live? And have you found a work placement already?

There are a lot of resources for learning Dutch on OLS - so you're in the right place! You can check out our 'Practice your Dutch' forum and of course our A1 Dutch course.

Because we're still in the beginning phases of developing learning materials and the forum we're very open to your suggestions about what kind of resources would be helpful to you on your learning journey. You can DM me or post on the 'Practice your Dutch' forum if you any special requests :-)

Wishing you a fabulous week!

Forsell Simon -
Hoi allemaal,

My name is Simon, I am 23 years old and I am from Sweden, although I will be in Groningen on an exchange during the upcoming semester. I study urban and regional planning at Uppsala University and I am looking forward to not only learn about planning from further perspectives, but also hopefully have a lot of fun and make new friends! I already speak a bit of Dutch, I have learned most of it from Duolingo and listening to Dutch music (I love Froukje) but it can't hurt to pick up even more while I'm in Groningen...
