Hello again,

After a week full of celebrations in Bulgaria, I have one more announcement for you today.

Last Friday, 3rd of March, was an important day for Bulgarians. On this date here we celebrate the National Holiday, commemorating the country's liberation from Ottoman rule in 1878. The struggle for liberation was long and difficult, but ultimately led to the establishment of an independent Bulgarian state.

On this day, throughout the country people organize various celebrations, including parades, concerts, and cultural events.

It is very common people from all over Bulgaria to travel to the historical Shipka monument (check the photo below) that played pivotal role in the country's struggle for independence, to lay flowers and show their respects to the soldiers who fought in the battle.
