In my country, we are more warm and welcoming. My culture shock is seeing that in other countries people are used to being cold, even with their own family. It doesn't mean that people are bad, we just have different customs, and that can make it a little more complicated to maintain a good, true, and comfortable friendship.

I always walk around a new place when I arrive. Then, the next time, I really enjoy running along the streets to get to know the area.

Hi, my name is Jessica. Usually when I travel I go by bus, then I open a map and walk around, getting to know the route. I can usually walk 5km easily. I think it's become a routine.

I prefer walking and meeting that new place. It makes me happy and that way I get used to the routes easily. I can locate myself in those places, but I still didn't get used to trains and underground trains in other countries. I see place for improvement, a place to try it on a next trip.

When I go to a new country, I prefer to walk. I like walking because it helps me see the city better. I can discover small streets, local cafés, and interesting places that I might miss if I take a bus or train. Walking also helps me feel more connected to the culture and the people.

I’d usually prefer walking first, then public transport, and biking or scooters in the right situations.

Walking is hard to beat when you first arrive somewhere. It helps you notice small details—street markets, architecture, local cafés—that you’d miss from a vehicle. It’s also the easiest way to understand the layout of a neighborhood and get a real feel for daily life. The downside is obvious: it’s slow and tiring if distances are long.

For longer trips across a city, buses and trains are usually the most practical.
