This course introduces key concepts and principles of Diversity and Inclusion, offering participants the opportunity to reflect on their relevance and application within the EU Civil Protection / Disaster Management working environment. A self-reflection thread runs through the design of this e-course, as self-awareness is a key pillar when developing inclusive mindsets and practices.

The course includes seven modules:

Module 1: On belonging
Module 2: Identity
Module 3: Difference
Module 4: Diversity
Module 5: Inclusion
Module 6: D&I Leadership
Module 7: Resources

Target audience

Civil protection/disaster management professionals and stakeholders.

Objetivos de aprendizagem

Understand the key principles of Diversity and Inclusion and recognise how these encourage participation and create an inclusive and safe environment in EU civil protection/disaster management working context.
Embrace the role as active contributor to a safe and welcoming workplace in civil protection/disaster management that fosters inclusion, by showing empathy and respect for diversity, acknowledging the emotional impact of exclusion, and adapting approach to support others.
