This course is intended for practitioners, researchers, policymakers, programme designers and evaluators working in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE). It is also suitable for trainers and professionals who want to strengthen their understanding of evidence-based evaluation and incorporate evaluation into P/CVE programme design and planning.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the role and importance of evidence-based evaluation in P/CVE.
• Understand how evaluation can support the planning and design of P/CVE programmes.
• Identify key considerations for incorporating evaluation into P/CVE programme design.
• Recognise how evaluation can help determine what works, what does not, and under which circumstances.
• Understand how evidence can support the adaptation of programmes to local needs and capabilities.
• Use basic evaluation concepts, materials and practical resources to support P/CVE programme development and evaluation.
• Recognise the importance of collaboration between practitioners, researchers and policymakers in strengthening evidence-based prevention.
