Erasmus grant

hello,

my university told me I had to do a English test to be able to receive my Erasmus grant but I don't know which test I have to do. I already did the placement test and had a C1 level. The university I am attending requires a B2 level, is this placement test enough?

My university said I would receive an invitation to make a test but I didn't received anything.

I will start my Erasmus next semester.

Thank you in advance

Julie

Hello, Julie!

Thank you for your question.

If you've completed the test on the OLS platform, you're invited to take a screenshot of your results and send this to your university. Several other community members have done the same with great success.

Please note that there is only one English placement test/language assessment on the OLS platform. Learners are welcome to take the test as many times as they wish.

Here is a link with some more details regarding the test: https://academy.europa.eu/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=1575

Also our OLS Assistance page has more information that may assist you. Feel free to read through it and also share it with your university. There is particular information for university administrators (Beneficiaries or BENS.)

Let us know if this information was helpful and if you have any other questions. I and the learners of our community are here to help!

Community members, share your tips or advice with Julie! Are you in a similar situation to Julie? If so, you're invited to share your solutions or ideas.

Wishing you a lovely day,
Iya

Hello, I have the same problem as Julie. I need to complete some kind of test for the Erasmus grant, yet nothing more has been said. They just gave some bare minimum vague information and sent a link here. Not sure that you would know but I might as well ask. Where do I send my placement result? Surely it can't be the university receiving me? What I am aware of, it's not the university that is asking for a language test but instead Erasmus.

Hello Samuel,

Thank you for your message.

I do not know where you must send your placement test result, but I can recommend that you contact your Erasmus+ coordinator. This person is usually the person who sent you the invite link to the OLS platform or the person who is supervising you during your Erasmus+ mobility program.

If that option doesn't work, you may try contacting the National Agency for your country of origin and ask to whom your test result should be sent.

The National Agency information can be found here: https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/contacts/national-agencies

Do you know anyone else in your mobility program that you can ask?

Perhaps someone in our English community will join our conversation to add what they know.

In the meantime, I hope this information helps. Let the community know if you were able to find a solution. Maybe your situation may be helpful to someone else in the future!

Wishing you a lovely day,
Iya

Hello again to you both,

I’m writing to share an update we’ve received regarding language assessment and results.

Please see below:

“The language assessment is compulsory only for Higher Education students and recent graduates whose mobility program lasts 14 days or more.

(Please note: this does not apply to Staff” participants. Staff participants are not required to take the language assessment.)

We are working hard to allow you to download a pdf with the results of your language assessment. In the meantime, as a temporary solution, please take a screenshot of your results page.”

Perhaps you might need a certificate in the future and if so, please know that we will update the community once this is available.

Have a great day,
Iya
