Information management can be defined as: • The systematic process for collection, collation, storage, processing, verification and analysis of data and information from one or more sources, and • The dissemination of relevant data and information to stakeholders, to support effective and timely humanitarian and/or civil protection actions.

Público objetivo

Union Civil Protection community and people interested in Information Management during European Civil Protection emergencies.

After this online course, you should be able to:
  • list the five steps in the information management flow;
  • define primary and secondary data and list examples of typical information inputs;
  • outline methods for validating data;
  • recognise the importance of a well-structured system for organising and storing information;
  • recognise how various audiences need different types of information for decision-making;
  • list various information products a EUCPT mission may have to produce; and
  • describe different channels for dissemination of information.
